Most of the people I have met either see reading as a leisurely hobby or a form of entertainment. Some others see it as a way of gaining knowledge. However, for me, reading is so much more than all of that. It is almost like a passion that has transformed my life in more ways than one. Ever since I read my first book, I knew that I had found something that I could treasure for the rest of my life.

Self-help books, in particular, have been a life-changing force, for they have armed me with the tools and insights I really needed. For someone who had struggled with anxiety and self-doubt, self-help reads gave me both the direction and support I needed. The first book in the genre I read was Brian Tracy’s No Excuses!, and I must say that the book totally changed my life.

The timing of the book was quite relevant as well, for I was constantly grappling with self-doubt in those days. I desperately craved for a change, but I had little idea where to start. I discussed this with my teacher, who suggested me to read this book. The book was so gripping that I could hardly take any breaks in between. It proved to be turning point for me as it taught me that there were no excuses for procrastination. Reading this page-turner gave me the confidence I needed to take control of my life. I actively started working toward achieving my goals. Arguably the most important takeaway from this book was that failure isn’t an end, but rather an opportunity to learn and grown.

No Excuses! also motivated me to read more, following which I got myself copies of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and Think and Grow Rich. Each book gave me a fresh perspective on how I could improve my life. I learned that positive thinking could magically transform my life. These books also taught me the importance of setting goals and working toward them.

Books have been a constant source of inspiration and growth for me. They have enhanced my knowledge and made me better equipped to overcome life’s challenges. Whatever I am today, I owe it to the books I have read.
