Some people dream of success, while others wake up and work hard at it.
Napoleon Hill
Every human being, irrespective of their physical, social or economic status, has certain goals in life. This ability to dream for a better future is one of the few things that distinguishes man from animals. Yet, not everyone is able to fulfill their dreams.
You see, just setting yourself lofty goals does not, in any way, guarantee that you will accomplish them. All this does is provide you with a direction to move in. Unfortunately, this is where most people stumble, and more often than not, procrastination is the main culprit.
For all their blessings, most human beings also come with a manufacturing defect – a dilatory attitude. They would rather put something off until the last minute rather than do themselves a favor and work on it in a planned, organized manner. They give in to the whims and fantasies of their minds, which keep telling them that it’s okay to do things later, or to start working on those projects when the time is right. And as is often the case, the right time never arrives. One generally either gets busy with other commitments or simply loses the motivation to pursue their ambitions. Before long, those dreams end up becoming just that – dreams.
On the other hand, there are a few other, proactive men, who know how critical hard work is to accomplishing their goals. In fact, they are already halfway through the moment they stop dawdling and get out of bed. Instead of letting their minds weigh them down with silly excuses, they take charge of the situation and start working toward the future they have always dreamed of.
Oliver Napoleon Hill, commonly known as Napoleon Hill, was an American self-help author. Hill once wrote: “Some people dream of success, while others wake up and work hard at it.”
