A lot of life is what one makes of it. As theoretical as it might sound, you can fly as high as your imagination allows you to. The one and only thing that defines the course of your life are your own choices.
Humans are a blessed species in that they have a mind with a boundless potential; one can achieve whatever they truly set their mind to. Believe it or not, the only limitations you have are the ones you imposed upon yourself. In this sense, even the external hurdles we face in our day-to-day lives are nothing but a manifestation of the internal constraints we have bound ourselves in.
However, it needs to be remembered that merely dreaming high is no guarantee that those dreams will come to fruition. It needs more than just some wild imagination to make it big in life. For starters, one has to have an action plan. A goal without a strategy to support it is like a kite without a thread. Another important ingredient in the recipe of success is will power – you need to have a steely will to not give up on the pursuit of your dreams. This is especially significant, for an irresolute person is likely to be fazed by adversities and confine their mind in a self-made prison of larger-than-life shortcomings.
That is why all success gurus stress the need to adopt a positive mindset. You have already won half the battle once you train your mind to see the silver lining to every cloud. Taking something out of every situation, no matter how gloomy, makes sure that the only direction you are moving in is toward your goals, not away from them. And this can only happen when you have liberated yourself from all self-imposed limitations.
