Striving for success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven't planted. – David Bly

Striving for success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven’t planted.

David Bly

The biggest prerequisite to becoming successful is neither having lofty goals nor a robust action plan to bring it to fruition, but the determination to work toward it. You might have all the talent in the world, but you won’t have much to show for it if you shy away from putting in the hard yards.

We are all aware that the pharmaceutical behemoths made a fortune during the pandemic. However, they had something that could help people recover or protect themselves from the virus.

Astonishingly, though, the pandemic benefited another industry that makes no value addition to the society. Yet, it sells the most important thing for the human soul – hope. Unfortunately, the age of Internet has coincided with the rise of success gurus. These are people who tell their audience day and night that they do not need to work hard to lead a lavish lifestyle like theirs. Their pitch revolves around the idea that success without hard work is very much possible; all one needs to do is sign up for their course and success will follow. The fact that this coaching biz has becoming a multi-million industry over the last couple of years doesn’t speak volumes about man’s intellect.

Let’s face it, nothing in life comes without a cost. You might look at a person and believe that they owe their massive fortune to fate or a stroke of luck, but that is a very simplistic take on things. Truth be told, none of the people who changed and revolutionized the world made it to the top without sweating it out. Life is not a bed of roses, and you will likely have to face the music if you set yourself goals befitting your potential. Setbacks might frustrate your plans and tempt you to give up on your dreams, settle for less, or believe people selling a fake dream that you can make it big without working hard. Remember, when the road ahead gets bumpy, you need to keep telling yourself that you will get there as long as you are moving toward it.

David Bly is an American politician. Bly is known to have remarked: “Striving for success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven’t planted.”
